        COLLABORATION

Collaboration when used fluidly within the classroom, school and community, can break communication barriers and create an inclusive, empowering environment.
  • Student to student
  • Student to teacher
  • Teacher to parents
  • Parents to students

A resource I have used and implemented into my teaching toolkit is the Human Resource Campaign Welcoming Schools Program. This Professional Development Program trains elementary school educators to:
  • Welcome Diverse Families
  • Create LGBTQ and Gender Inclusive Schools
  • Prevent Bias-Based Bullying
  • Support Transgender and Non-Binary Students
"An improved school climate has a significant positive impact on academic achievement. Plus achievement gaps decrease in schools with a positive school climate."
Ruth Berkowitz et al. (2016) Review of Educational Research
"All HRC Welcoming Schools lessons are aligned with the Common Core Standards and are easily integrated into Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and anti-bullying programs."
