Who am I? A current and prospective educator striving to promote social justice, challenge bias and engage students in discussion about diversity by means of an inclusive multicultural education.
After playing soccer at Davis for three years, I decided to follow my curiosity in outdoor education and leadership. I joined Outdoor Adventures UC Davis where I guided backpacking trips all over CA and the Grand Canyon. I found it rewarding to lead apprehensive students out of their comfort zone and give them the knowledge and skills to take on novel situations and environments.
I graduated from UC Davis in 2014 with a B.S in Environmental Science and Management. I followed my interest in forest ecology and fire science to Lake Tahoe where I spent the next three years working for the University and the USFS. I have taken part in a handful of research projects in the Lake Tahoe Basin as well as the majority of the Sierra Nevada.
The best part of working in remote and wonderous parts of California was taking my loved ones back years later, and teaching them everything we discovered and the questions we were still asking.
Today, I am still an avid adventurist and naturalist but enjoy getting lost in the forests on my own time. After returning to my home town in Marin and rediscovering the Bay Area's beauty, I am looking forward to sharing my amazement with my future students.
